(Kissimmee, Fl.) -- County Commission candidate Viviana Janer suffered one of the lowest political blows Osceola County politics has ever witnessed. Janer was fired this weekend for refusing to resign from her campaign against Commissioner John Quinones. If elected, Janer would be the first Hispanic woman to serve on the Osceola County Commission

The choice her long-time employer gave was simple: Walk away from a promise to fight for and serve her District 2 neighbors, or lose her job. No American should ever face such a decision.

“I never thought my opponents would sink to this,” Janer said.

In case you missed it, the story broke yesterday in the Orlando Sentinel. Congressman Alan Grayson, who represents all of Osceola County, derided the firing as a “disgrace,” and an underhanded attempt to “rob her of her job and rob the voters of their votes.”

Today, Janer will tell her side of the story.
