REP. GRAYSON IS “WINNING THE WAR AGAINST THE CASE FOR WAR”
“Don’t Attack Syria” Petition Soars Past 61,000 Signatures

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – Congressman Alan Grayson’s bold stance against U.S. military action in Syria, and his tireless efforts to defeat the congressional resolution authorizing an attack, has inspired tens of thousands of Americans to take a stand with him.

As of Friday afternoon, nearly 62,000 people have signed Grayson’s “Don’t Attack Syria” petition (www.dontattacksyria.com).

The Grayson Army does not support ‘humanitarian bombing.’ The Grayson Army wants peace. Together we will defeat the resolution, and prevent another American military boondoggle,” said Grayson.

The Miami Herald points out that Grayson’s petition, his numerous national media interviews, and his pointed questions during this week’s House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing, are the main reasons that Grayson (D-Orlando) is “winning the war against the case for war.”

Grayson’s petition makes the simple case against military intervention in Syria. It reads, in part:

“There's no vital national security involved. We are not the world’s policeman, nor its judge and jury. Our own needs in America are great, and they come first. The death of civilians is always regrettable, and civil war is regrettable, but no Americans have been attacked, and no American allies have been attacked.”

Congressman Alan Grayson is a Democrat from Orlando. He represents Florida’s heavily-Democratic 9th Congressional District, which includes southern Orange County, Osceola County and eastern Polk County.
